Equipment stored in a shelter is usually cooled by an Air Conditioner. However, it is possible that the ambient temperature is less than set point of the air conditioner. If such a situation arises, the system switches off the air conditioner and initiates the Free Cooling Unit (FCU). The FCU facilitates the movement of the cold air from the environment to the bottom of the shelter, and removes the hot air via an exhaust. This accessory comprises air inlet and outlet units, a DC fan, temperature and humidity sensors and a user-friendly controller.
OPEX saving through minimized electricity expenses is a major advantage of this accessory. Over the years, ZI has observed that outside temperature is below the desired shelter temperature for a significant part of the year. The FCU uses the outside cold air to cool the shelter.
